A Fire Safety Mock Drill was conducted at our Sainik School on 16/12/2025 at 02:00pm within the school campus, covering the Academic Block and Hostel Area. The drill was organized with the objective of enhancing emergency preparedness among cadets, teaching staff, and administrative personnel. The primary aim was to ensure that all stakeholders are well-acquainted with fire safety protocols, evacuation procedures, and the proper use of firefighting equipment, thereby fostering a culture of safety, discipline, and prompt response during emergencies.
The exercise commenced with the activation of the fire alarm system, simulating a fire emergency situation. Upon hearing the alarm, cadets immediately followed the designated evacuation routes in an orderly and disciplined manner under the supervision of teachers and hostel wardens. The evacuation process was conducted systematically, and all cadets assembled at the pre-identified safe assembly points within the stipulated time frame. Attendance was promptly verified to ensure that no individual was left behind, demonstrating the effectiveness of the evacuation plan.
During the drill, fire safety officials provided a practical demonstration on the use of fire extinguishers and explained the different categories of fires, including electrical, chemical, and combustible fires. Cadets were sensitized to preventive safety measures, emergency response techniques, and the importance of remaining calm during crisis situations. The first-aid team and safety personnel remained on standby throughout the drill to ensure complete preparedness.
All necessary precautionary measures were taken prior to the drill, including inspection of emergency exits, verification of functional fire extinguishers, and confirmation of clear evacuation signage across the campus. The coordinated efforts of staff and students ensured the smooth and successful execution of the drill without any untoward incident.
The Fire Safety Mock Drill concluded successfully and achieved its intended objectives. It significantly strengthened awareness, coordination, and emergency response readiness among cadets and staff. The school remains committed to conducting such drills periodically to maintain high standards of safety and preparedness within the campus, thereby ensuring the well-being and security of all students and personnel.
